Incursions & Excursions
Supporting Sustainable Practices and Thinking in Schools
Want your students to create a more sustainable future?
We engage learners in sustainable activities through incursions or excursions, to broaden their understanding of their interaction with others, their environment and the impact they can have locally and globally.
We have over 10 years’ experience working with schools and have qualified teachers to guide your students through these hands-on experiences.
Students will learn to collect local seed for indigenous plants and how to prepare that seed for growing.
Students will have the opportunity to grow terrestrial and wetland plants through, pricking out, divisions and cuttings and then later plant these around their school.
Understanding local ecosystems
Children will engage in activities to understand how the biotic and abiotic components of ecosystems support each other.
Whole school landscape plan
A staff member will visit your school and ‘make a plan’ with you on what plants the students should grow and plant in and around your school.
This only touches on what we can offer, so it is best to get in contact and discuss your ideas so we can develop a project that suits your schools needs and meets the curriculum. There are different times of the year that suite different activities, so it is best to contact us well in advance of wanting to start the project so we can ensure you get the most out of the experience.
We offer these activities as incursions or excursions depending on the project’s goals.
