Caterpillar Food Plants 

Caterpillars need to graze on the leaves and shoots of a plant, meaning that there must be enough food on the plant they hatched on for them to reach full size. The most significant plant groups usually picked by caterpillars are native grasses, sedges, legumes, shrubs and climbers.
